Well, here we are — Chicks Coop is officially live, and honestly, I’m just as surprised as you are.

I’ve been threatening to start a blog for years now. You know, "someday, when things calm down.” Spoiler alert: they never do. Between the chickens (actual and metaphorical), the kids, the garden that grows weeds better than vegetables, and the daily mental gymnastics of staying sane-ish, I realized waiting for the “perfect time” was just another way to procrastinate.

So I decided to dive in, feathers-first.

Why "Chicks Coop"?

Because life feels a lot like a chicken coop — noisy, messy, unpredictable, but somehow weirdly wonderful. There are days when everything is pecking at my patience, and others when I actually manage to pull off dinner, keep everyone alive, and maybe even water the plants before they scream for help.

This blog is my little corner of the internet to talk about it all:

• The chaos of daily life

• Mental health without the sugar-coating

• The joys and disasters of homesteading

• Recipes that range from “Wow, I nailed it!” to “We’re ordering pizza.”

• And of course, family life — the kind that makes you laugh, cry, and hide in the bathroom with snacks

This isn’t a place for perfection. It’s a place for real. You’ll get honest stories, probably too much oversharing, and the occasional nugget of wisdom I’ve picked up between breakdowns and breakthroughs.

Also, there’s The Coop Scoop — a little advice corner where you can ask me anything. Need help starting a garden? Struggling with anxiety? Wondering if chickens really do judge you? (They do.)
